  • The Lord Mayor's Enterprise Award
  • What we do and how we can help with your entry:
Targeting over 1,000 young people both in and out of the school environment, as well as influencers and providers of enterprise support, the project aims to encourage enterprise knowledge and increase enterprise capability and skills in order to move young people into a position where they would seriously consider self employment as a viable career option.  The project has worked with the majority of Newcastle schools as well as a number of youth groups across the area, and has identified likely groups that would be encouraged to submit an entry for the Awards.
Also focus on idea generation workshops targeted at start up and existing businesses, as well as providers of enterprise support. Idea generation sessions will offer individuals the opportunity to be creative in their thinking, particularly in relation to their potential or existing business or social venture. Sessions include an enterprising capability audit to raise confidence, identify existing capability or highlight skills gaps, creative thinking activities, personal idea planning, ideas evaluation and next steps planning.
A wide range of individuals have undertaken idea generation workshops, ranging from pre start to existing businesses. Likely candidates will be encouraged to apply for the Awards.
