Stars shine at launch of Newcastle Enterprise Awards

10th July. The Newcastle Enterprise Awards got off to a shining start at the official launch event held on 9th July at the Centre for Life in Newcastle.

Over 100 invited guests heard from a panel of ‘Stars’ – role models across Newcastle already running successful enterprises and winning awards. The panel included Hannah Eyres of Keyfund; Joanna Feeley of Trend Bible and Rob Grisdale & Jack Payne of WhipBikes who have all reaped the rewards of winning a regional award.

They all stressed the benefits of entering awards competitions, like the Newcastle Enterprise Awards, such as “confirmation we are doing things right”; “attracting new funders and investors”; “extensive profile and recognition”; “bringing new customers and clients” and “the process of entering actually reinforces your achievements and helps shape your business plan and ideas – everyone should take the time to do it”.   You can read their story and others by going to the ‘Stars’ page of the website.

Karen Langdon of DEAL Group, organisers of the Awards, opened the event by telling the audience who should enter, how to submit an entry, who can offer support and what the judges will be looking for.

The Newcastle Enterprise Awards are inviting entries from those planning an enterprise, in the early stages or fully established, as well as individuals who are supporting them. These Awards are not about being the biggest, the most profitable or even the best – they are aimed at those who have made a difference.

Make sure you or someone you know become one of our future ‘Stars’ by entering the Newcastle Enterprise Awards. As they say in Newcastle “shy bairns.....get nowt”, so don’t be shy – go for it!
