About

What are the Newcastle Enterprise Awards?

These special Awards are not about being the biggest, the most profitable, or even the best in the region! They are about celebrating the achievements, talent and passion of those who live and work in Newcastle and who have really made a difference.

Who should enter?

Whether you are planning your enterprise, setting it up, or have hit the ground running, then one of the Newcastle Enterprise Awards could have your name on it.
Perhaps you’re a mentor or a coach, or you have supported someone in a professional or informal capacity? We are looking for individuals supporting enterprising people at any stage of their business or enterprise journey. If this is you, or someone you know, then do take a look at the Awards page and read more about the individual awards open for entry. Don’t forget to read the Rules of Entry and the individual award criteria before starting your entry.

The Lord Mayor’s Enterprise Award

Finalists from the Awards will go forward to The Lord Mayor’s Enterprise Award, a special honour created by The Lord Mayor of Newcastle upon Tyne and given to the individual, group or business she believes deserves recognition for their contribution to enterprise.

Where can I get help with my entry?

Take a look at our Partners page which lists support organisations and people who can help and guide you through the process. In addition, get a friend, colleague or partner to read through your entry and make sure you’re not selling yourself short! You don’t have to complete the entry form in one go, there is the option to save the form and come back to it at a later date.

When is the closing date?

Closing date for entries is 5.00pm on Saturday 14th August 2010.

Who are the organisers?

The Awards are part of the Newcastle Enterprise Package - a range of business support activities brought to you by Newcastle City Council as part of the Government-funded Solutions for Business portfolio of services. The project is also funded by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2007-13 funding programme.

The Newcastle Enterprise package provides encouragement and support those who want to be part of a broad community of practice – to explore enterprise as a career option, build relationships with support networks, help businesses find ways to support themselves and others in business, and celebrate the passion and success which is so vibrant in this area. The Awards are one way of achieving this.

Get involved.  Be a star!
